Elizaphan Ogechi is a Development Practitioner and Executive Director of Nguzo Africa, an innovative community foundation committed to just, resilient and prosperous communities. He holds a Bsc in Information Science specialising in development publishing and digital for social impact. He is a community power leader. #ShiftThePower Fellow and Champion for Community-led development anchored on trust, equity, justice and flourishing lives for all. 

Elizaphan works at the intersection of governance, sustainable development, and community philanthropy and has more than 20 years of experience in the non-profit sector. He is a firm believer of humanity, innovative solutions and making things happen.

Elizaphan joined Nguzo Africa in 2011 as the team’s first project manager. Having progressed into the director’s role, manages leadership and operations for the organisation and plays a vital role on setting strategies for growth. 

Elizaphan consults and facilitates trainings on governance, peace, gender equality, social justice, economic and sustainable development, agriculture and food security, environment and climate change issues. 

Besides, he provides consultancies on strategy and organisation development, digital transformation, Community-led and locally-led sustainable development, fundraising and local resources mobilisation. He supports local organisations in building their resilience, relevancy and responsiveness to changing world. 

Elizaphan writes and publishes on governance and citizens engagements, sustainable development, building economic opportunities, agriculture, health, education, environment and climate change issues. 

He is the Global Fund for Community Foundation (GFCF) #ShiftThePower fellow and champion on building organisation resilience, fundraising and resource mobilisation, community philanthropy and promotes social enterprises, social investments and ventures.
